Open Access Policy
The Journal of Biology Education Research (JBER) is a fully Open Access journal. We operate on the core principle that making research freely and immediately available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge, accelerates the advancement of biological science education, and removes access barriers for educators, researchers, and students worldwide.
Compliance with BOAI
JBER strictly adheres to the globally recognized definition of Open Access established by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). All published content is available online immediately upon publication and is completely free of charge to users and their institutions.
In accordance with BOAI principles, users are explicitly permitted to:
-
Read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal.
-
Crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose.
Users may perform these actions without asking for prior financial, legal, or technical permission from the publisher or the author, aside from those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.
Licensing Mechanism
To legally enforce this Open Access commitment, all articles published in JBER are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). While the journal holds the copyright and formal publishing rights, the CC BY-SA 4.0 license ensures that readers possess unrestricted rights to reuse the material, provided that:
-
The original authors are properly acknowledged, and JBER is cited as the original venue of publication.
-
If the material is remixed, transformed, or built upon, the derivative work must be distributed under the exact same license (CC BY-SA 4.0).
